Once he's wrapped up The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2, which will be his third of the four-part franchise, Francis Lawrence isn't going to take a breather. Instead he'll stick with Lionsgate and jump right into another epic fight for survival, one of myth and legend.
Lawrence will direct a large-scale adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, penned by Peter Craig (The Town) and produced by Nina Jacobsen. So what will be different about this version of Odysseus's journey home post-Trojan War? That much remains unclear. Warner Bros. is also developing a take on the same story titled simply Odysseus, but little has been heard of it since last summer.
Filming will begin early next year after Lawrence wraps up the Mockingjay press tour. [Deadline]
