With a few more flops under his belt (including the disastrous Mortdecai), Johnny Depp is back in the one role that people actually will pay to see. Production on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (that title has to go) took a hiatus as Depp recovered from an injury, but now he's back as Jack Sparrow and producer Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed the first official photo.
Directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki) with Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Geoffrey Rush, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani starring in the high seas adventure, the story has Sparrow down on his luck and chased by ghost pirates led by an old nemesis. The only way to save every pirate at sea is to find the powerful Trident of Poseidon. Okay, sure.
