Marvel Confirms Writers for 2018's 'Captain Marvel' Film

Marvel may not have decided on a director for Captain Marvel yet, but at least they've taken a big step by hiring a pair of talented writers to pen her first big-screen adventure. As was rumored last week, Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) are now confirmed to write the screenplay.

Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers is an integral member of the Avengers in the comics. The former Air Force security officer was caught in the explosion of an alien Kree device, giving her supernatural powers. She's undergone a number of physiological changes, plus a number of name changes (Ms. Marvel, Binary, Warbird), but she's always stood strong as a stalwart member of the team. It remains to be seen how she'll be introduced to the MCU and if they alter her character. Captain Marvel was written into early drafts of the Avengers: Age of Ultron script and was removed to hold her for a latter film.

Maybe now we'll hear something new on a director and if it will be Angelina Jolie as some think. Or Marvel will take their time since the film doesn't open until November 2nd 2018.
