Pizza Night gets Kinky in the First Trailer for 'The Overnight'

This summer is going to be chock full of many of the comedies that made a splash at Sundance this year. Not only will we get Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Dope, and The D Train in short order, but we'll also get the sex-fueled comedy, The Overnight, which many claimed was the funniest of all.

Produced by the Duplass Brothers with Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling, Jason Schwartzman, and Judith Godreche starring, the story centers on Alex and Emily, the new family in the neighborhood having moved to Seattle to Los Angeles. In an attempt to meet the neighbors they agree to attend a "pizza night" playdate for their kids, only for the evening to turn wild once the children are asleep.

The sex subplot may be the hook many latch on to, but there's clearly a lot more going on than that. Actually, this kind of resembles an episode of the Duplass' HBO series, Togetherness, one of the smartest shows about marriage around.  Both +Mae Abdulbaki and I missed this at Sundance, but our good friend +Lauren Bradshaw saw it and loved it, calling it "racy" and "unpredictable", two things I love. The Overnight hits theaters on June 12th.
