Vin Diesel and Chris Tucker Join Ang Lee's 'Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk'
Vin Diesel and Chris Tucker in the same movie? Sounds like the beginnings of some kind of buddy cop comedy, but instead it's something very different. The duo are joining the growing ensemble for Ang Lee's drama, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.
Already set to star Joe Alwyn, Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Steve Martin, and Ben Platt, the film centers on the title character a soldier returned home from the Iraq War with his squad. Having been filmed by news crews surviving an intense firefight, the squad is treated as heroes and sent on a promotional tour ending in a huge halftime show during a Texas football game on Thanksgiving Day. After it's over, they're to be shipped back off to rejoin the war. The vast majority of the film takes during the game with flashbacks to Billy's heroism under fire.
So it's probably a good bet we won't see Diesel jumping a muscle car across skyscrapers. Lee plans to shoot the film in 3D just as he did with Life of Pi.
