'Wild Tales' Director Damian Szifron to Write Mark Wahlberg's 'Six Billion Dollar Man'
After scoring a Best Foreign Language nomination at this year's Oscars for Wild Tales, Argentinian filmmaker Damian Szifron is going in a completely direction for a follow-up. Today Bob Weinstein announced Szifron would be scripting long-developing Six Billion Dollar Man, which will star Mark Wahlberg and be directed by Peter Berg.
The film has been in the works for awhile, once with Bryan Singer attached, and now seems to have found the team to move forward. It's based on the classic TV series, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Martin Caidin's novel, Cyborg. The story centers on Steve Austin, who is rebuilt with cutting edge technology by a secret government agency after a horrific injury leaves him near death.
So it looks like they have the technology, and The Six Billion Dollar Man has been rebuilt.
