'Wonder Woman' Needs a New Director as Michelle MacLaren Exits
There hasn't been a lot of chatter about Wonder Woman ever since Breaking Bad director Michelle MacLaren was brought in to helm the film. The silence was a little tough to ignore given all the news surrounding Suicide Squad and The Flash of late, and perhaps now we know why things have been so quiet. THR reports MacLaren has exited the Wonder Woman project over "creative differences".
Warner Bros. issued a statement which confirms the split, and presumably the studio will begin the search for another female director to replace her. They have plenty of time as production probably wouldn't begin until next year to hit the film's June 23rd 2017 release date. And it's not as if there aren't a number of female directors qualified for the job. Before MacLaren was hired the other contenders on the list were Karyn Kusama, Julie Taymor, Mimi Leder, Tricia Brock, and Kathyrn Bigelow, and presumably one of them will be looked at now.
Wonder Woman is set to make her debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice played by Gal Gadot.
