David Lynch Directing All 18 'Twin Peaks' Episodes, Scored by Angelo Badalamenti

Get ready to double your reservation in Twin Peaks, WA. Now that the whole flap between David Lynch and Showtime has been settled it's time to get down to the particulars of their Twin Peaks revival, and when they said "the cup is even bigger" now they weren't just blowing smoke.

At a Twin Peaks panel at Crypticon over the weekend, Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn revealed a few major pieces of information. First of all, there will be 18 episodes in total, double what was originally announced. All of the episodes will be directed by Lynch himself, and he'll be joined by his regular composer, Angelo Badalamenti. Oh, and the original Double R Diner will be back right where it belongs.

Basically, all that worry about budgets and contracts have completely evaporated, and Showtime is pulling out the stops to make Twin Peaks' return a true fan event. Look for the series to air some time next year. [Welcome to Twin Peaks]
