Jason Momoa and Lee Byung-Hun Join Denzel Washington in 'The Magnificent Seven'
Although he's already set to hit the seas as Aquaman in Justice League and the superhero's eventual solo film, Jason Momoa has found time for another potential blockbuster. The former Khal Drogo of HBO's Game of Thrones has joined Antoine Fuqua's remake of The Magnificent Seven, joining an ensemble that includes Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, and fellow new arrival Terminator Genisys' Lee Byung-hun.
Momoa and Byung-hun will saddle up for the redo of John Sturges' 1960 Western, which was itself a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. This one will be slightly updated and center on a poor mining town that hires a team of outlaws to take out a villainous gold baron. Momoa will play one of the antagonists, which is something he's really good at, while Byung-hun is the character Billie Rocks.
Hopefully this turns out better than Momoa's remake of Conan the Barbarian. Also starring Haley Bennett, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Wagner Moura, Filming on The Magnificent Seven should begin this month. [Deadline/THR]
