Jon M. Chu Plans an 'Escape'; Sean Anders to Direct Jennifer Aniston in 'Mean Moms'

G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Jem and the Holograms director Jon M. Chu is set to produce the action-adventure film, Escape, from Once Upon a Time writer Tze Chun. The film, which doesn't currently have a director, is based around a mission led by tech-savvy criminals. Chu is in the process of completing the heist sequel Now You See Me: The Second Act, which will hit theaters next year. [THR]

Last year we learned Jennifer Aniston was on board to headline Mean Moms, an adaptation of Rosalind Wiseman's advice book. She's still attached, and now will be reunited with her Horrible Bosses 2 director, Sean Anders. Anders and John Morris are writing the screenplay which will center on the very-real world of competitive parenting. It's a follow-up but not exactly a sequel to 2004's Mean Girls, which was also based on a Wiseman book. [Variety]
