Not long after the modestly-budgeted hit film John Wick racked up $78M at the box office (How much is that per kill? Somebody do the math.) and became an instant cult classic, word started to get around that Lionsgate had already begun developing a sequel. Not really a surprise there since original franchises are hard to come by. Now the studio has confirmed what we pretty much already knew, and that the original crew is coming back for more.
John Wick 2 has officially been announced and the death toll will probably be even higher this time. Keanu Reeves will return as the sharp-shooting assassin, along with directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, joined by screenwriter Derek Kolstad. The gang's all here.
Leitch and Stahelski have become hot commodities around Hollywood lately so there's no firm word on a timetable. The duo are expected to bring Valiant Comics character Bloodshot to the screen at some point, and they've also been rumored for one of Warner Bros.' DC Comics movies.
