So why in the world is there a Minecraft version of last month's trailer for Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials? It sounds like something fan-made, doesn't it? But this is actually an official release by 20th Century Fox to coincide with the popular game's Scorch Trials mod that will be made available soon here.
Having never played Minecraft this doesn't mean much to me, but I'm a big fan of The Maze Runner and this trailer is pretty cool in a blocky sort of way. Here's a synopsis for the upcoming film directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Patricia Clarkson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aidan Gillen, Giancarlo Esposito, and Ki Hong Lee.
In this next chapter of the epic “Maze Runner” saga, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.
