Charlize Theron Confronts a Painful Memory in New 'Dark Places' Trailer

Already out in France, the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's (Gone Girl) book Dark Places isn't due stateside for another two months. Fortunately, for those who are dying for the latest from the acclaimed author, the film is now available for order on DirecTV, and there's a new trailer to go along with it.

Starring a terrific cast in Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Corey Stoll, Christina Hendricks, and Tye Sheridan, Dark Places centers on Libby Day, a woman who years earlier had survived the brutal murder of her family, testifying against her brother in the trial. Years later she's approached by a secret society of mystery enthusiasts who force her to confront the truth about that day.

Directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, Dark Places opens in theaters on August 7th.
