Jaume Collet-Serra to Direct Killer Shark Movie 'In the Deep'
Jaume Collet-Serra has found his own personal butt-kicking muse in Liam Neeson. They've worked together on Run All Night and Non-Stop, hardly what anybody would call brainy flicks but people seem to like them. So one can only hope that Collet-Serra dials up Neeson for his next film, In the Deep, because we may get to see the actor face a killer shark.
Collet-Serra will direct the shark film which is being described as 127 Hours meets Gravity meets Jaws, when really all they need to say is that it's similar to Open Water. Tony Jaswinski's screenplay centers on a woman trapped on a buoy yards offshore from an isolated beach, and the only thing between her and safety is a deadly great white shark.
The hope is to find a 20-something actress to take the lead role, but hopefully there's room somewhere for Neeson. Perhaps he can be in the shark suit? [Deadline]
