Considering the world of spies and secret government operations he lives in, there are very few people Jason Bourne can trust. Most are out to kill him or use him for their own sinister goals, and when it comes to women there are even fewer he can count on. But one that has stuck with him throughout the entire trilogy is Julia Stiles' Nicky Parsons, and it was her smile that lit up The Bourne Ultimatum's finale when it appeared Bourne had escaped to live happily ever after. With Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon coming back for Bourne 5, obviously he hasn't gotten away at all, but at least he'll have Parsons' help once again.
Deadline reports that Julia Stiles will reprise her role as Parsons in Bourne 5. She was Bourne's contact at Treadstone but was never truly in an adversarial role. She's a fixture in Bourne's life, and Stiles is terrific in a role that isn't always as fleshed out as it could be. Frankly, Julia Stiles makes everything better.
Details on the plot are still under wraps, of course, but bringing Parsons back means there will be significant connections to the prior film. Perhaps we'll see some other characters return as well.
Stiles is the first major casting outside of Damon, while it appears Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) is still working out a deal. Bourne 5 opens July 29th 2016.
