Life Sucks for Jemaine Clement in First Trailer for 'People Places Things'

"I'm just having a bad life", says Jemaine Clement's hard-luck character at the top of the first trailer for People Places Things. Those words, along with the comedy's title, probably tell you this is a story about starting over and finding new purpose when life gets you down. These kinds of relatable stories are pretty much the backbone of the Sundance Film Festival where this one debuted to strong reviews and a ton of praise for Clement's performance.

Clement plays a New York City professor and graphic artist who struggles to rebound after his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his kids is caught having an affair with his friend. Moving on will mean learning to be a single father to his twin daughters, a challenge all by itself, and of course getting back into the dating scene with the help of a talented student played by The Daily Show's Jessica Williams. This looks incredibly charming and totally new for Clement, who most will know from HBO's Flight of the Conchords.

Also starring Regina Hall and Stephanie Allynne, People Places Things opens August 14th.
