New Live-Action 'Attack on Titan' Trailer Reveals Even Bigger Action
Who needs that Independence Day sequel when you've got the live-action Attack on Titan coming for all your human vs. unstoppable creatures needs. A second trailer for the anticipated adaptation of the classic manga reveals even more insane action than before and the massively-scaled special effects that fans were hoping for. But...well, there is at least one thing to be concerned about.
Attack on Titan takes place in a world that has humanity living in cities surrounded by massive walls to defend against the invading Titans, gigantic creatures that kill people for mysterious reasons. The attacks have decimated the human population, but a resistance is formed to fight back and reclaim the world. Kiko Mizuhara (Norwegian Wood) plays the badass rebel chick, Mikasa, and in this footage we see her in a passionate embrace with another, something her character would never allow in the anime or manga versions. Hopefully they don't change too much else.
Directed by Shinji Higuchi, Attack on Titan opens in Japan on August first, followed on September 19th by the sequel.
