What is it about Michael Ealy that makes him perfect to play complete wackos? Is it the icy blue eyes? Or is he just too handsome to be normal? Ealy recently finished up a run as the chief deranged psychopath on The Following, and now he's back at it again in The Perfect Guy, alongside The Best Man Holiday's Sanaa Lathan and Morris Chestnut.
Lathan plays Leah, a hard-working career woman who is ready to settle down and commit with her longtime boyfriend (Chestnut), only to have him get cold feet. The disagreement leads to a nasty break-up, but Leah soon finds the seemingly perfect guy in Carter, who wants all of the things she wants. Of course, it turns out to be too good to be true, and Carter's devoted attention soon becomes something more sinister.So yeah, this is trashy "guilty pleasure" stuff here. It's for those who have The Boy Next Door and No Good Deed on Blu-Ray, and that's no small amount of people since both of those films did extremely well. There's a market for stuff like this.
