The Barcoded Assassin Return in New 'Hitman: Agent 47' Trailer
In Hollywood, a brand is a brand is a brand. Name value is the only thing that really matters, which is why we're getting a reboot in Hitman: Agent 47 only a few years after the Timothy Olyphant-led Hitman performed modestly at the box office. And while it doesn't exactly qualify as a summer blockbuster, there are probably a few fans of the popular console game looking forward to the genetically-altered killer's new big screen mission.
Rupert Friend (Homeland) takes over as Agent 47, a bar-coded clone assassin tasked by a top secret government organization to destroy a corporation with plans of exposing the program and building their own army of unstoppable killers. To do that, Agent 47 will have to kill the daughter of the corporation's top exec, but of course it's not quite so simple.
While this looks like just another action flick from debuting director Aleksander Bach, the cast talented suggests otherwise. Zachary Quinto, Ciaran Hinds, Hannah Ware, and Thomas Kretschmann co-star. Then again, the film is co-written by A Good Day to Die Hard's Skip Woods, so there's that to consider. Hitman: Agent 47 opens August 21st.
