Between the new Scream TV series and Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens, it seems there are no shortage of horror deconstructions out there. But one that has been somewhat flying under the radar is photographer Tyler Shields' slasher flick, Final Girl, starring Abigail Breslin and Wes Bentley. With the film opening this summer, a new trailer has been released that shows off Breslin's axe-wielding skills.
Breslin plays Veronica, the shy new kid at school which makes her the perfect target for a group of sadistic boys who like to lure girls into the woods and kill them. But they get more than they bargained for with Veronica, an undercover assassin who knows how to make mincemeat of her foes, and these boys just made her kill list.
Also starring Alexander Ludwig and Cameron Bright, Final Girl hits theaters and VOD on August 14th.
