Intense new Trailer for Denis Villeneuve's 'Sicario' starring Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio Del Toro

Barreling its way into Toronto as part of the incredible TIFF lineup announced this morning is Sicario, Denis Villeneuve's drug war thriller starring Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio Del Toro. And to help capitalize on the buzz that has been building since Cannes a new trailer has been released for what looks like Villeneuve's most intense film yet, which is really saying something.

Set on the U.S/Mexico border, the film stars Blunt as an FBI agent recruited into an elite task force to take down a major drug cartel. What she finds is that the situation in Mexico is much darker and more violent than anything she faced stateside. Here's the synopsis:

In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman.
In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs.
Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.

Sicario hits theaters on September 25th.
