Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Crash Christmas in 'The Night Before' Trailer
There must be something about Seth Rogen that makes him want to push the comedic limits around the holidays. Last year around Christmas time he was embroiled in a scandal for starring in The Interview, a film that nearly started a world war. Now he's back again this holiday season with another film that could raise a few eyebrows. He's reteaming with Jonathan Levine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, his director and co-star in the cancer dramedy 50/50, for the Christmas comedy The Night Before, and he's bringing along Anthony Mackie as well.
The first trailer for The Night Before is of the red band variety, which should come as no surprise. The film centers on three best friends who meet annually on Christmas Eve for a night of craziness, but as they've gotten older it's getting harder to do, so they decide on one final bash to go out in style. Here's the complete synopsis that fleshes things out a bit:
From Jonathan Levine, the acclaimed director of 50/50, comes the new comedy The Night Before. Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie) have been friends since childhood, and for a decade, their yearly Christmas Eve reunion has been an annual night of debauchery and hilarity. Now that they’re entering adulthood, the tradition is coming to an end, and to make it as memorable as possible, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball – the Holy Grail of Christmas parties.
Surrounded by a strong supporting cast of Michael Shannon, Mindy Kaling, Jillian Bell, and Lizzy Caplan, The Night Before comes down the chimney on November 25th.
