HBO Reveals the First Teaser for Jonathan Nolan's 'Westworld' with Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, and More
While it's undeniably disappointing that we won't be getting a Utopia series with David Fincher and Gillian Flynn, HBO has plenty of other high-concept shows on the way worth looking forward to. One that arrives next year is Westworld, Jonathan Nolan's serialized take on Michael Crichton's 1973 sci-fi film dealing with artificial intelligence in a futuristic Western setting.
Starring Ed Harris, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Shannon Woodward, Rodrigo Santoro, Anthony Hopkins, Jimmi Simpson, and Jeffrey Wright, the series takes place in a technologically advanced amusement park where robots fulfill the guests' every desire. Described as "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin", the series will differ from the movie in that it will be told from the perspective of the robots, as seen in the creepy new teaser as Wood's character begins to question her reality.
HBO airs Westworld in 2016.
