One of the X-Men's most enduring villains is making his way to X-Men: Apocalypse, and they may want to bring an extra plate of food. Or ten. According to Benjamin Malartre Bureau's Instagram, the villain known as The Blob will appear in next year's film, although in what capacity is unknown.
Chances are it won't be a major role since it looks like he'll be played by an actual 540-pound French Canadian actor. The Blob aka Fred Dukes is unnaturally fat but his blubber grants him superhuman strength and invulnerability. He was once recruited by Charles Xavier to be part of the X-Men but refused, only to leave and attack the X-Mansion. He was defeated, and was later recruited into Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. He's long been a close associate of Mystique's, and that relationship could be carried over into the film. The character was last seen on-screen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine played by Kevin Durand.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27th 2016.
