New Posters for 'Joy', 'Sicario', and Angelina Jolie's 'By the Sea'

After Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, there's no reason to doubt the pairing of David O. Russell with his muse, Jennifer Lawrence. And now the two are reunited for the biopic, Joy, in which she plays Joy Mangano, a single mother who overcomes hardships to invent the Miracle Mop, turning her life around. A new poster for the film has been released which things definitely seem to be looking up for Lawrence's character. Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini, and Elisabeth Röhm co-star with the film opening on Christmas Day.

Speaking of terrific pairings, Denis Villeneuve has a great one with Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin. The trio are featured on three new posters for his gritty drug war thriller, Sicario, which has already been earning strong reviews and seems poised to be the most action-packed awards contender this season. Blunt plays an idealistic FBI agent who joins a task force in a bloody war to stop a Mexican drug cartel. Sicario opens September 18th.

Hollywood's ultimate power couple are finally reunited on-screen, and this time it's not in a silly action like Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Angelina Jolie is directing and starring alongside her husband Brad Pitt in By the Sea, a serious relationship drama about a married couple working through their problems at a gorgeous resort in 1970s France. The trailer certainly suggested a moody,  picturesque drama of the kind old Hollywood used to make, and this new poster supports that notion. By the Sea opens November 13th. Expect an Oscars push.
