Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, and Tom Wilkinson sought for 'Kong: Skull Island'
Announced at Comic-Con last year, Legendary's Kong: Skull Island is still piecing together its main cast. Tom Hiddleston was the first to sign on, and he was followed by Michael Keaton and JK Simmons, but both of those actors recently exited the project, leaving a void that has yet to be filled. Now Deadline reports some progress on that front as Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Wilkinson, and John C. Reilly have entered talk for the King Kong prequel.
Jackson is apparently in talks for the role vacated by Simmons, while Reilly is a frontrunner to take over for Keaton. All of this is still pretty early on, and it's possible that Russell Crowe could still be in the picture for one of those vacated roles. Whoever signs on will join Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and the recently-cast Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) in the adventure film set on the mysterious island home of King Kong.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island is slated for March 10th 2017.
