Rocky Trains a New Contender In the Latest 'Creed' Trailer

There was a time when boxing movies were gold. Raging Bull and Rocky being the shining examples of how movies about the sweet science captivated audiences. It hasn't really been that way for a while, sorry Southpaw, but if a film is going to reinvigorate that love of boxing on the big screen it will be Creed, which looks simply phenomenal.

Reuniting the Fruitvale Station duo of director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan, Creed is a Rocky spinoff centering on Adonis Creed, the arrogant but incredibly talented son of Rocky's nemesis-turned-friend, Apollo Creed.  Struggling with a different kind of fight, Rocky, played by Sylvester Stallone of course, reluctantly agrees to be Adonis' trainer.

Despite the lousy Rocky sequels of recent years, everybody recognizes how important that character is, and seeing Stallone back passing the torch to Jordan is pretty amazing. Also starring Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad, Creed hits the ring on November 25th.
