If Marvel could find a way to put Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston in the same movie, or, by God, put them both on the same panel at Comic-Con, there might be a nerd explosion. And that love the fans have for them both carries over into their non-superhero efforts. But in the case of Hiddleston, can they be convinced to show up for a biopic on country music legend, Hank Williams? This first clip might just do the trick.
Hiddleston gets to show off his vocals in the first footage from I Saw the Light, in a scene that has him recording Williams' "Move It On Over". We also get a look at fellow Marvel-ite, Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Williams' wife, Audrey, a respected singer in her own right. There's just the slightest hint of his accent peaking through but otherwise he pulls an impressive country twang.
The film is directed by Marc Abraham and opens November 27th.
It gives me great pleasure to introduce the first clip from I SAW THE LIGHT. @TIFF_NET tomorrow! #MoveItOnOver
