Zoe Saldana Joins 'I Kill Giants', Thomas Jane Finds 'Inversion', Patton Oswalt Enters 'The Circle'
Zoe Saldana and young Madison Wolfe will lead I Kill Giants, the anticipated adaptation of Joe Kelly's graphic novel. Chris Columbus (Pixels) came on to produce a few months ago, but it will be Anders Walter directing the story of a misfit girl named Barbara who battles monsters both real and imaginary. Saldana will play the school psychologist who forms an inspiring bond with the girl. [TheWrap]
Ex-Punisher Thomas Jane is set to star in the indie thriller, Inversion, about two guys who are polar opposites connected by their desire to change. The film is directed by Zack Parker (Proxy), who co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Donner. If all comes together shooting would begin next year around summer time. [Deadline]
James Ponsoldt's tech thriller The Circle has recruited Patton Oswalt to the impressive cast. He joins Tom Hanks, Emma Watson, John Boyega, and Karen Gillan in the adaptation of Dave Eggers' novel which centers on a young woman working at an Internet giant that links all user information into a universal operating system. Oswalt will play Tom Stenton, one of the company's three original founders.[Deadline]
