Zoey Deutch Leads 'Before I Fall' ; Jenny Slate is 'Gifted', Frances O'Connor Joins 'The Conjuring 2'
Zoey Deutch, who was pretty awesome in the otherwise terrible Vampire Academy, has landed another YA leading role. She'll star in an adaptation of Before I Fall, Lauren Oliver's Groundhog Day-esque story of a popular high school girl forced to relive the last day of her life seven times until she gets it right. The film will be directed by Ry Russo-Young, the indie filmmaker who last helmed Nobody Walks in 2012. [Deadline]
Jenny Slate (Obvious Child) is the latest to join Chris Evans in Gifted, the next film from director Marc Webb. Octavia Spencer, McKenna Grace, and Lindsay Duncan co-star in the story of an irresponsible man fighting for custody of his brilliant niece. [Variety]
The Conjuring 2 begins filming later this month, and the horror sequel has just added a new castmember in Timeline and The Missing star, Frances O'Connor. James Wan is returning to direct with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga back as renowned paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. June 10th 2016 has been set for the film's release date. [THR]
