New Trailer for HBO's 'Vinyl' Smashes You Over the Head
The hook of HBO's drama series Vinyl isn't necessarily the sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, although that's a big part of it. It's really the synthesis of three incredibly powerful creative voices: Martin Scorsese, Boardwalk Empire writer Terence Winter, and Mick Jagger. The network debuted a brand new trailer tonight and it features all of their various influences.
"Think back to the time when you heard a song that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, made you want to dance, or go out and kick somebody's ass"! Bobby Cannavale plays the beleaguered studio exec on the search for exactly that song, and the hunt is riddled with...well, sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll. But there's also a good deal of violence, captured in a purely cinematic style we instantly recognize as Scorsese's.
This looks absolutely amazing, and the cast joining Cannavale isn't shabby, either. Juno Temple, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Jack Quaid, and more co-star in Vinyl when it debuts in 2016.
