New Trailer for John Crowley's 'Brooklyn' Starring Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson

John Crowley's 1950s romance Brooklyn emerged out of Sundance with a heap of glowing reviews (including mine), both for him and for star Saoirse Ronan, with many expecting it to be a major Oscar player this season. She plays an Irish immigrant just arrived to the United States who must learn to overcome being homesick. Fortunately she find herself in the middle of a love triangle with a pair of strapping lads played by Domhnall Gleeson and Emory Cohen. Not a bad way to get distracted. Here's the synopsis to go along with a brand new trailer:

BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950’s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Also starring Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Emily Bett Rickards, Jenn Murray, and Nora-Jane Noone, Brooklyn will be released on November 4th.
