Is Mark Ruffalo's Hulk Headed to 'Thor: Ragnarok' Next?

“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War). I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.”

That's what Mark Ruffalo said just last month when asked for the billionth time about the Hulk's future after Avengers: Age of Ultron. There has been speculation for years about a solo film, or team-ups with the Guardians of the Galaxy, or maybe even a Planet Hulk film, but all of those rumors have been debunked in one way or another. The only thing we know for sure is that Hulk won't be in Captain America: Civil War. So where will the "Jade Giant" turn up next? What is the "great" reason for all the secrecy?

According to Joblo, the reason is Hulk turning up in Thor: Ragnarok to fight alongside the Asgardian thunder god played by Chris Hemsworth. In the comics, Ragnarok is basically a Norse apocalypse, the end of all things, and that idea continues on the big screen although this report adds it will take place on a distant planet that is neither Asgard or Earth.  Also expected to return are Tom Hiddleston as the devilish Loki (last seen posing as Odin) and Jaimie Alexander as Sif. Taika Waititi (What We Do In the Shadows) was recently hired as director.

The idea of another planet being introduced will only keep the Planet Hulk rumors going, although to be fair they were never likely to end. But if that's the case what would that do for Hulk's involvement in Avengers: Infinity War which arrive in 2018 and 2019?

Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3rd 2017.
