Finn and Rey Are Under Attack In The First 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Clip

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is only a few weeks away, and for the most part it's all wrapped and ready to go. Mostly. While the first clip of the film has now been released, which you can find below, J.J. Abrams told attendees at a charity event over the weekend that he's still got a few small details to tighten up. He said "at 2:30 in the morning, we finished the mix of the movie." So all good, right? Well, he's not quite finished yet, adding "I left with six very small, but important things that (still) need to be done."

And how many of these things involve his trademark lens flares? According to him, we won't be seeing much of them at all, mainly because Industrial Light & Magic's Roger Guyett kept it in check. Abrams said, "As you’ll see, I’ve allowed lens flares to take a backseat. Every time there could be a flare, Roger would tell me, ‘These are not the flares you are looking for.'"

So maybe there will only be 5 or 6 lens flares this time? They've certainly been seen in some of the trailers and TV spots. Speaking of which, the first official clip from the film has been released and it doesn't reveal much other than Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) on the run from an attack. Along with are a few more TV spots with footage both new and old.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th.
