Think Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been a secret? It's got nothing on Jeff Nichols' Midnight Special, which Warner Bros. has kept completely under wraps all year. Well that's finally about to change as the first trailer for the John Carpenter-esque sci-fi film has finally been revealed.
Starring Joel Edgerton, Jaeden Lieberher, Nichols' buddy Michael Shannon, Kirsten Dunst, Adam Driver, and Sam Shepard, the film has long been described as the story of a father who discovers his son possesses extraordinary powers and must go on the run to protect him. This trailer expands on that a little bit, revealing some of the boy's array of powers and introducing those who are chasing him. But there's still much that is being kept at bay, and hopefully some of the film's mysteries will stay hidden.
Midnight Special hits theaters on March 18th 2016.
