It may seem like all Ben Affleck is doing in 2016 is suiting up for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but somehow he also found time to shoot The Accountant, a financial world thriller co-starring Anna Kendrick. EW has revealed the first image from the film, which features the two stars running some high-level numbers.
The film is directed by Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) and features Kendrick as a clerk who stumbles upon something shady at the robotics company she works for, forcing her to turn whistleblower. Affleck plays a math savant who may or may not double as an assassin. The descriptions for the film seem a bit flaky on that point. Here's how Kendrick describes playing a character who isn't as cool as she's accustomed to...
“I don’t normally play the romantic leading lady. I based her on my mom. She’s an accountant, so I actually had her go through the script with me and explain the math.”
The Accountant hopes to crunch some big numbers at the box office starting October 7th 2016.
