Kurt Russell Could Play Star-Lord's Dad In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2'
Only a few weeks ago Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn was swatting down rumors of Star-Lord's parentage. While the claim his father is alien hero Captain Marvel seem to have been debunked for now, an actor to fill the mystery role may have been found. A report over at The Wrap says Kurt Russell is being considered to join the film as Peter Quill's daddy.
Russell, who has had a busy 2015 with Furious 7, Bone Tomahawk, and this month's The Hateful Eight, is Gunn's pick according to inside sources. At this point no offer has been made and Russell has yet to read he script, so all of this could just be wishful thinking. It's perhaps worth nothing that Russell and Vin Diesel, who voices the tree creature Groot, worked together on Furious 7 and it could have something to do with this.
We'll see what happens. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens May 5th 2017.
