New 'Deadpool' Images Feature The X-Men And Gina Carano As Angel Dust
The X-Men movie universe will be expanding a few months before X-Men: Apocalypse, and it's all thanks to Deadpool. We've already seen that Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) has a pretty significant role, and while he's been in many of the prior films he hasn't done a whole lot. What's genuinely new is the arrival of Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), proving that Professor Xavier is in the midst of some kind of recruitment drive. So how does Deadpool fit into all of this? Empire has debuted a few more photos featuring Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), his X-Men pals, and Gina Carano as the villainous Angel Dust. But it also has a few words from Reynolds on how the mouthy merc connects with his fellow mutants...
"This film certainly works within the context of the X-Men universe. But it doesn't necessarily include the sensibilities of an X-Men movie. It's like taking an X-Men character, pumping him full of LSD and then releasing him back into the fold."
Sounds like exactly what Deadpool fans have been begging for. In the comics Deadpool doesn't really gel with the X-Men, either, which is why so many of his interactions with them have been so funny. Let's just hope they don't overuse the character as Marvel Comics certainly did.
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th 2016.
