Vin Diesel's XXX is hardly what anyone would call an action movie classic, but it is the franchise that launched his career. While he didn't stick around for the sequel, one original star did and that was Samuel L. Jackson as hardass NSA agent, Augustus Gibbons. Now as Diesel makes his return with the third film, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, he's confirming Jackson will be back along with one surprising new addition.
As usual, Diesel hit social media to make the announcement of Jackson's casting. He adds that Jackson's performance as Gibbons was "timeless", which is up for debate.

Diesel also confirmed that UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor will have a role. McGregor is coming off a big 13-second knockout victory over Jose Aldo. Chances are we'll get to see Diesel and McGregor duke it out on screen at some point.
While Diesel doesn't mention it specifically, it's also been confirmed Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will take on the female lead. Filming on the XXX sequel is getting underway soon with DJ Caruso at the helm.
