Fox Orders '24' Reboot That Won't Feature Jack Bauer At All

Last summer a rumor surfaced that Fox wasn't done after the success of 24: Live Another Day, but any new series would feature a younger male lead and considerably less of Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer. While that news wasn't exactly received all that well, Fox is moving forward on that idea....except it won't feature any Jack Bauer at all.

Fox Television has ordered a potential series titled 24: Legacy, which will follow the real-time, one hour per episode conceit that drove the original show for eight action-packed seasons. But unlike those, this one will feature an all-new cast, with the hunt currently on for an African-American actor to play the lead role of Eric Carter, a military hero who returns to the U.S. and must help CTU stop what could be the largest terrorist attack on American soil.

Original producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz are on board so there's still some connecting threads, but will fans be interested in a 24 without Sutherland anywhere?  And what about some of the other series regulars, in particular Mary Lynn Rajskub's popular Chloe O'Brian?
