TNT President Confirms TV Series 'Titans' Won't Make it to Air

For years, I have been telling anyone who will listen that Dick Grayson, the original Robin and former sidekick to Batman, now known as Nightwing, needs to have his own TV show. And what better way to have explored his coming into adulthood and being more than Batman's sidekick than with a show highlighting the days of the Teen Titans.
But newly appointed president of TNT and TBS, Kevin Reilly, has nipped the bud before it had time to grow into anything beyond a great idea. The show, titled Titans and based on DC Comics characters, was going to focus on Grayson and several other Teen Titans members like Raven, Starfire, Kid Flash (Wally West), Speedy (Roy Harper), and Cyborg. Even Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) was attached to the project. But at the Television Critics Association (TCA) presentation earlier today, he confirmed that this project is never going to see the light of day, with Reilly choosing to take TNT and TBS in a new and different direction.
The Teen Titans are very much the younger versions of their Justice League mentors and are one of the most successful and well-regarded group of superheroes in the DC Comics universe. But I like to think that not all hope is lost with this one. With so many successful superhero shows on various networks (The Flash and Arrow on The CW, Supergirl on CBS, and Agent Peggy Carter on ABC, among a few others), someone might want to pick it up? Here's hoping.
