2016 Razzie Awards Dominated By 'Fantastic Four', 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'
As Hollywood prepares to celebrate the best of the year at tonight's Academy Awards, last night the Razzies dogpiled on the worst. And as usual they picked the most obvious targets that will cause the least amount of controversy or blowback, singling out Fantastic Four and Fifty Shades of Grey, which somehow tied for Worst Picture status. They didn't even have the nuts to pick a single winner.
The universally-panned superhero film got Worst Picure, Worst Director for poor, beleaguered Josh Trank, and Worst Remake, Rip-Off Or Sequel. Fifty Shades of Grey was dishonored with Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Jamie Dornan, and Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson (which is absolutely ludicrous, by the way), Worst Screenplay, and Worst Combo. Worst Supporting Actress went to Kaley Cuoco for Alvin and the Chipmunks 4, although it's obvious that's not a film demanding a lot from her, and Eddie Redmayne earned Worst Supporting Actor for his embarrassingly overcooked performance in Jupiter Ascending. Can't really complain about that one. On the positive side, Sylvester Stallone won the Razzie Redeemer award for Creed, which is nice since he's one of the group's favorite punching bags.
