New Trailer For Rom-Com 'Lolo', Directed By And Starring Julie Delpy
While Julie Delpy has long taken an active role in the films she's starred in, just look at the creative mindmeld she's had with Richard Linklater and Ethan Hawke during the Before Sunrise movies. Her directorial efforts have mostly seen her venturing into screwball comedy territory, taking on a style reminiscent of a young Woody Allen. And once again that seems to be what she's going for with her latest film, Lolo, which has just debuted a new trailer.
Delpy directs, writes, and co-stars alongside Dany Boon, Vincent Lacoste, and Karin Viard in the story of a workaholic mother who falls in love with a man, only to have her teenage son try and wreck everything. Here's the synopsis:
Violette (Julie Delpy), a 40-year old workaholic with a career in the fashion industry falls for a provincial computer geek, Jean-Rene (Danny Boon), while on a spa retreat with her best friend. Though Jean-Rene faces a major challenge: he must win the trust and respect of Violette’s teenage son, Lolo (Vincente Lacoste), who is determined to wreak havoc on the couple’s fledging relationship and remain his mother’s favorite.
Lolo opens in NY on March 11th before expanding on March 25th.
