Fans Of Boy Bands Will Love The Title Of Lonely Island's New Movie
There's finally a title for The Lonely Island's upcoming music world comedy, and it's appropriately silly. Andy Samberg appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and brought with him the first teaser poster for the newly-titled Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, so you can probably guess where this film is going to go. New Kids On the Block and N'Sync better watch out.
The Lonely Island trio of Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone will star in the Judd Apatow-produced film, which centers on rapper Connor4Real (Samberg), who is experiencing a sophomore slump. When his second album flops, everyone, from his fans to his rivals, are wondering why he's no longer the dopest rapper. So to get his careerback, Connor4Real reforms his old boy band.
Schaffer and Taccone will also co-direct while all three wrote the script. Expect tons of cameos from the comedy world, such as Sarah Silverman and Maya Rudolph, along with appearances by the biggest stars in music, and probably some who used to be big but aren't so much anymore. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping opens June 3rd.
