Emilia Clarke Says She's Done With 'Terminator'
The writing had been on the wall for months. The bleak future for Terminator Genisys was so obvious it might as well have been orchestrated by Skynet. Fans simply didn't care about the relaunch/reboot of the classic sci-fi franchise, which was to start a new trilogy and possible TV series. Despite earning over $400M worldwide, most of it overseas, the film was a disappointment and sequels were pulled off the schedule by Paramount. But is that truly the end? At least for Emilia Clarke it is.
Clarke, who played a less buff version of Sarah Connor, was asked by Comingsoon if she'd reprise the role, and she didn't even try to hold back in her answer...
"No. Can I say that? It’s okay. No. Uh-uh. But I have some very different roles coming up”.
Here's what we don't know: Is she saying that because Paramount isn't making more Terminator movies? Or because she's found a way out of her contract and the role will be recast? Something tells me it's the former because a sequel would need to be well into production right now, and nothing seems to be happening. Nobody's gonna haul T-800 out of the lava this time.
Clarke will be seen this weekend when HBO's Game of Thrones returns for its sixth season. She will also star in the tearjerker Me Before You which opens June 3rd.
