First Trailer For Festival Dramedy 'Captain Fantastic' Starring Viggo Mortensen

Quick, what was the last Viggo Mortensen movie you saw? And don't say 'Lord of the Rings'. The actor has mostly stayed away from anything that would ever come near a multiplex, so it's possible most people haven't seen him in quite some time. Whether that changes with the family dramedy Captain Fantastic is unclear, but the film debuted at Sundance and is now headed to Cannes, which is a pretty rare thing, so there's a decent amount of buzz building for it.

Mortensen stars alongside Kathryn Hahn, Frank Langella, George MacKay, Erin Moriarty, and Steve Zahn as the father of a family living in isolation from society. But that all changes when his wife dies and he has to bring his six children, who he has been raising to be extraordinary adults, into the outside world for the first time. Matt Ross (28 Hotel Rooms) directed from his own screenplay.

Captain Fantastic opens July 8th when audiences could mistake it for the latest Marvel film.
