First Trailer For Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, And More
Marvel has been developing a Doctor Strange film for a long time, but was never quite on stable enough ground to take that kind of gamble. The character isn't exactly one of the most popular comic book heroes, and his mystical background isn't as simple to meld into the MCU. But in a post Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man landscape, a film like Doctor Strange doesn't seem so crazy, and after a long wait the first trailer for it has arrived so get ready to have your mind blown.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular Doctor, the film centers on his journey from arrogant neurosurgeon to Sorcerer Supreme. And this truly will be about that journey of magical discovery as the trailer focuses a lot of time on Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One, Strange's teacher in the mystic art. At one point she literally punches Strange's aura right out of his body, but that is just one of the many reality-warping things he encounters.
The cast is absolutely stacked with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, plus Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Scott Adkins, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Amy Landecker. Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4th.
