Jacob Tremblay May Star With Julia Roberts In 'Wonder'

Admit it, the best thing about the awards season was Room star Jacob Tremblay's over-excited reaction to...well, everything.  The awe we saw in him over what had to be the best time of his young life gave us all another reason to love movies again, and let's hope some of that enthusiasm can carry over to his future projects. According to The Wrap, Tremblay is in talks to star in Wonder, a coming of age film based on R.J. Palacio's novel.

Tremblay would play 10-year-old Auggie Pullman, a kid with a severe facial deformity who has been home schooled his entire life. But now he's faced with the scary prospect of attending a real school and the judgment of others his age.

In talks to play Auggie's mom is Julia Roberts, but like Tremblay she has not signed any deals just yet. Paul King (Paddington) is directing from a script adapted by Steve Conrad (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty).  After helping Brie Larson win Best Actress for Room, Tremblay has been lining up projects alongside other top actresses. He'll work with Naomi Watts in Colin Trevorrow's The Book of Henry and the thriller Shut In, plus he's starring with Vera Farmiga in Burn Your Maps
