'Jumanji' Remake May Reunite Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart

Mismatched though they may be physically, it appears Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have totally hit it off. Not only are they starring in the buddy comedy Central Intelligence later this year, but they just finished co-hosting the MTV Movie Awards. And now they're eyeing another project together, Sony's remake of Jumanji.

Variety reports the duo are in early talks for the film, based on Chris Van Allsburg's 1985 adventure novel about a board game that magically causes jungle plants and animals to invade a quiet suburban neighborhood. The book was the inspiration for the 1995 film led by Robin Williams.

Scheduling is going to be the issue here as both actors are incredibly busy. Johnson shoots Fast 8 this summer, but he has time this fall just before he films the third season of HBO's Ballers. Hart could be tougher as he has the Intouchables remake with Bryan Cranston shooting this summer, roughly around the same time as Jumanji would begin production with Jake Kasdan (Sex Tape) at the helm. The film is already set to hit theaters on July 28th 2017.
