Did Patsy and Edina ever truly go away? Sure, Absolutely Fabulous isn't the only thing running on Comedy Central like it used to be, and the show has been off the air for a while now, but the show has had such an impact on the television landscape that it might as well have never left. And this is one case where the buzz is genuine as fans have long been clamoring for a reunion.
A new trailer for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie has arrived, and it features tons of celebrity cameos including Jon Hamm and Rebel Wilson. Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders are back as the glitzy duo, and this time they are on the run after being accused of killing supermodel Kate Moss. Here's the official synopsis:
Appropriate for their big screen debut, Edina and Patsy (Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley) are still oozing glitz and glamour, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking, and clubbing their way around London’s trendiest hotspots. Blamed for a major incident at an uber-fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forever more!
I always disliked the show back when it was on the air but this looks pretty funny. Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie opens July 22nd.
